The "stage" was an outdoor cafe in Geneva, Illinois, outside Graham's 318, a coffeehouse, sandwich, gelato and chocolate treats establishment on 3rd Street in Geneva. The occasion was the Geneva Fine Arts Festival on July 28 and 29th. Graham's wanted to host a playful yet interesting "toast" to the Fest and invited 3 artists along with a Jazz quartet to perform on next to the front patio.
Painting live is always a tightrope walk for an artist. In keeping with the mood and the music, I produced a painting celebrating light, color and water. The piece was executed in whetted pastels and acrylic watercolor. Approximately 60" X 34" on canvas stretched over an old door. Voila!
