On September 13 I got the kind of phone call a writer always hopes for: The National Association of Science Writers had selected “Normal at Any Cost” as its annual national book award. An official press release followed a few days later. Susan Cohen, my co-author, and I will travel to Yale to receive our award and partake in a number of workshops (all part of ScienceWriters 2010), as well as “Lunch with a Scientist.” These activities, organized by NASW, include opportunities to talk to dozens of Yale scientists. (I wish one would clone me so I could chat with them all.)
Thank you again, NASW, and also the Fund for Investigative Journalism, which supported this book from the very beginning.
