Chester D. Campbell's Reading Interests
Influences
I became interested in writing mysteries while in college when I read two books by Horace McCoy, They Shoot Horses, Don't They and No Pockets in a Shroud. In later years I've been influenced by such writers as Robert B. Parker and James Lee Burke. Over the course of six published books, I've created my own fast-paced style using Elmore Leonard's dictum, "I try to leave out the parts people don't read."
