Breast Cancer Awareness

The best part of watching a Cartoon is wondering, pondering and speculating how the villain will be defeated. The sheer anticipation of the treacherous’ criminal’s demise is exhilarating. With this same intensity, anxiously I await the defeat of Breast Cancer by its superior foe, a Superhero Cure.

Breast Cancer has claimed a multitude of lives. It’s infiltrated our families and left vacancies in our hearts. Many of its victims have been responsible for my up-bringing and personal well-being. Their deaths affect every aspect of my past, present and future. My mother, several extremely-special friends, and close neighbors have all lost their lives to the battle of this Plague. At age sixteen, my mother’s death was catastrophic and left my world unbalanced. Breast Cancer stole my family’s Matriarch. Now, I seek revenge. This disease has to be defeated.

Until Breast Cancer research produces a Cure, we must ALL have the responsibility of Preventive Maintenance. Knowing the risk factors, eating balanced healthy meals, routine exercise and regular breast exams will decrease the number of Breast Cancer victims. Early detection has helped save a plethora of lives. Mammograms for women 35 and older are essential and provide assurance that “Our Girls” will be with us till the end. Simultaneously, we can fight, while researches explore, and win this battle Together!
