Saw SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK yesterday. It will probably win every movie award that doesn’t go to LINCOLN. Now, you can’t believe a word I say from here on as I am so connected to this film. 1. I lived in adjacent town where the movie is set, even attended the high school where the book’s author, Matt Quick, taught. 2. The bathroom scene was filmed in my cousin’s home, suburban Philly. 3. Last week I attended a professional review of the screenplay at 20th Century Fox studios. 4. After twelve years removed from Philly, still an Eagles’ fan … good friend Vince Papale (oldest rookie to enter NFL – movie INVINCABLE. Vince was played by Bradley Cooper – just kidding he was played by David O. Russell’s fighter, Mark Wahlberg). Papale wrote the introduction to my book about boxing champ, Joey Giardello, DOWN BUT NEVER OUT. Now go see SLP, worth the time and treasury – you really can believe me about that.
