Foundation… …Every Religion …

I have been raised Catholic, but not as strict in religion per se; as my upbringing to the daily acknowledgement that God was present and the reason and the mystery we are here. Remembering my parents’ dependence on God was the strong foundation that guided me to search for a deeper understanding to know God more when I was lost. It seems to be our limited humanness and fear that keeps us separate, afraid to fully open our hearts and place greater value in the sacred wisdom in Religion and Spirituality. Whether our way and our truth is found on a path called Christian, Pagan, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Taoist, or Hindu, we are, in truth, underneath it all no different from one another. Through the ego's perception we might be tempted to judge one religion over another. This seems to close us more and separate us from the softness and compassionate heart of God, and the connection to the true spirit that is in us, that ties us all together.

Also we find those that walk in the way of God, serving others and humbling themselves can be looked upon as though they are weak... through acts of kindness and compassion they show others love and consideration regardless of how they are perceived. We may not always agree on the way, but with hope of finding greater good as we value others with our soul's deepest longing of understanding, perhaps we will begin to find the threads of our own truth.

               It seems that every saint and the greatest leaders in the world speak about all the ancient religions that are underneath the same versions of The Golden Rule: " Do unto others…"  And is it because we now can understand that we see the sameness in every religion… And probably better left unsaid discussing the differences.  And yet very hard to keep silent about the greater value in the foundation of our religion that answered our souls calling in our walk back to God, that eventually found all roads lead home, to the same truth...

             While I would be much less than nothing without – to stay silent, when the Cathoilc Church nurtured us, served us, supported us, guided us, loved us, and gave us back our lives they promised...for a brighter future...
