Between Christmas and New Year we had mail. In fact I had unexpected mail.
There was a lovely long letter from the sweet David Bean. (and Maggie
too!) Also, a gorgeous necklace made by Dave. Which I intend to
photograph today! Oddly enough the day it arrived, I was wearing
green... not just any green, but the exact shade of green in the beads
of the necklace. (I also happened to be wearing peridot rings - that's
the color -should you be wondering. Tis my favorite green. I don't like
emeralds I am a peridot person).
Too fabulous. What a clever man Mr.Bean is.
My
other actual mail was a beautiful handmade card from Erma in Vegas.
Truly gorgeous and what thrilled my lot was Squealers name spelled to
perfection. It's a rare thing!! And it happened twice this Christmas -
honestly half the time family members get Squealers name wrong so when
non-family spell it right, it's cause for celebration. Friend Eric (who
lives up the road and comes for coffee and writing talk once a week or
so) managed to get everyone's names on a handmade Christmas card and
spelled correctly!
Chrissy came up on Boxing day and stayed
until New Years eve, which was nobtastic! Upon arriving home she told
me my Christmas present arrived. LOL. Guess I'll get it one day. No
don't know for sure what it is, except it's a medium and it came from
the USA. (kinda narrows it down really - am thinking tee shirt from
BonJovi.com, lol, and am dying to toss it about myself!!!) I am however
carrying about my diary for the year... Chrissy got me a Bon Jovi
diary! Too fabulous for words really. I love it.
Apart from
the above, it's been rather so-so here. The weather has had a few
tantrums, and seems to have sorted itself out now. We have sun, let's
hope it lasts.
I wa sick all day yesterday, not one hundred
percent yet either. SOme nasty tummy bug. Which is quite bizarre as
it's not something we tend to get. In fact it's been YEARS since any of
us have had a tummy bug. Everyone else can get sick, and one of us may
feel a little ill, but that's it. Not this time!
So far I'm the only one sick.
Was
thinking it was something I ate. But the only thing I ate that no one
else did was dried cranberries. (cos I love em) So I doubt its food
borne. Especially when there has NEVER been a case of food poisoning in
our family, not ever. I'm too careful for that.
There you have it, a mystery bug!
The only thing completely ruled out is pregnancy - thanks for thinking that, but way ahead of you there!! Thank god.
Yesterday
I wrote... well not so much wrote as edited. I was tweaking parts of
Ethernet. Still have some to do. I am part way through writing a
chapter where Ellie meets Rowans parents for the first time. (she's
only put it off for nearly two years!!) I may get a chance to finish
that later. I certainly will if I convince the laptop it wants to play
nice... and pop out to the gazebo with it. Less distractions if I'm not
sitting at my desk. (internet wise, the laptops wireless dohicky is
playing up so no net unless I plug it into the actual router... and
that ain't gonna happen from outside... oh bugger... it can. I just
remembered I have an extra long cable. Rats!!! Now that I have
remembered that, you know I'll plug the bugger in.
I also wrote a query letter for Terrorbyte, and tweaked the synopsis. And played with some scenes.
I'm querying Terrorbyte Jan-Feb this year.
Oh
and I wrote a brand spanking new scene... but I don't know yet where it
goes. I have a feeling its part of Satellite. Which is about to get a
full make over and have the guts stripped out of it. (kinda but not
quite.. follow? good!)
Satellite starts with Ellie as a PI (but
not). But Ethernet finishes with Ellie leaving the FBI. - Satellite was
originally going to come before Ethernet, but now it's coming after.
Except the whole PI story is important to the twisted conclusion to
Ethernet. (are you confused yet?)
Most of the PI story is explained in Ethernet. So I think I can gut Satellite now and not worry too much. LOL
The new Satellite will begin in Germany at a rock concert.
Oh
here's a pic of the nobtastic jeans I created... what can I say, they
speak for themselves. Well it was going to be a picture, but it was so
huge it blocked out the text. hmmm I shall try again.
Nope not going to work. oh well.
Ahhhh it's viewable over at Myspace... hopefully still in my blog over there. hee hee I cut and pasted it here.
Edited to add this pic - which contains a glimpse of my Jovi Jeans! -
