It's been a crazy, hectic, frustrating few days down here in New Zealand. Terrorbyte was released on Nov 10th. Amazon have screwed up and screwed me. They added a region restriction - right after releasing kindle for PC. There is a word that fits here. Wankers! So they allowed us (New Zealand, Australia, probably the entire south pacific, definitely Asia) to download kindle for PC, then promptly disallowed my new book in those regions. NICE. I'm a kiwi you morons. AND even though my publisher (in Africa - and she discovered they'd blocked Africa as well) has asked for this to be fixed, as of last night the restriction was still in place. How smart is it to block the authors country?? I've not been terribly impressed with Amazon for a while now, they have too many restrictions for authors/readers in places other than the USA. So - please. Buy, my books from Mobipocket and not Amazon. terrorbyte: http://www.mobipocket.com/en/eBooks/eBookDetails.asp?BookID=240117&Origine=4580 killerbyte: http://www.mobipocket.com/en/eBooks/eBookDetails.asp?BookID=165352 What else? Well where to start really. I'm doing Nanowrimo because I am apparently a sucker for punishment. I'm close to the end. about two scenes away in fact. And by crikey I am looking forward to those. I'm tired of putting myself through this!! While I'm on a roll, and getting everything that's pissed me off out... blog tours. If you offer to host someone on their blog tour -follow through. Don't ignore emails, don't screw their tour up because you're busy or can't be bothered. We're all busy. Communicate clearly and fuc'n get on with it. I'm still waiting to hear what's happening with an interview I did in OCTOBER. That's right, OCTOBER. Then I do another one, for someone else and the expectation was that it be a stop on my blog tour, a definite stop. It took four hours from my writing time to do and I got it back in plenty of time. And it's now over a week late. THEN - going back to OCTOBER again. A reviewer asked to review killerbyte. But didn't answer the email saying she'd received the file. I chased it up yesterday. (After getting no reply to my email two weeks ago!) Now - I'm seeing a disturbing trend here. Bad manners! How hard is it to acknowledge an email? Seriously? Take seconds right.. hit reply, say thank you and whatever else needs to be said. I don't tolerate bad service in stores or anywhere else, I have zero tolerance for rude behavior and yet... it's becoming disturbingly obvious that people cannot be bothered with common courtesy. (and that irks me!!) Now a fellow kiwi - who does't know me (apart from following me on twitter) stuck his hand up yesterday and offered to help - as three blog hosts had failed to follow through on offers or even answering emails. My guest post on his new blog is here. http://thehomeofblade.blogspot.com/?zx=547c3ff4bd502d00 Show the man some love - he needs readers and hell, he's a kiwi. (Don't need to say much more than that!) Yesterday Ellie took over my blog. http://catconnor.blogspot.com/ She's still lurking to answer last minute questions. Go have a read, check out the comments (questions by readers)
and her answers. Ellie is awesome. Her and I will soon be appearing on Lee Pletzers blog -another kiwi who's hand shot up to help out - and a terrifying horror writer. Later this week we will be at Libby's library blog. And next week we'll be visiting Unbound. (or I will if Ellie gets too busy with the catching of criminals.)On Dec 21st you can hear me on the radio. Details will follow when I have them! Okay off to do stuff -like get Squealer ready for school... not easy. Make me happy - go buy my books but buy them from mobipocket,
