"Global Momentum on the Axis" - a poem for spring

Global Momentum on the Axis

            Melting snow

            evanescently escapes

            summer heat

            Water drops

            gather in the stream

            the water

            in pursuit

            the motion

            stoic stone

            resists any movement

            White water rapids

            rush on course, despite the

            boulders in the path

            indurate rock

            ancient obstacles persist

            fresh deluge

            pours forth with green growth

            abradant

            relentless is

            the snail's progress

            the path made simple

            wet slippery mud trails

            births of green buds

            dirt and grayness

            of winter lingers still

            new life ushers

            renewal to trees asleep

            with bare branches

            leaves sprout shyly

            creation's nudity

            no longer exposed

            by death's winter slumber

            ephemeral cocoon

            frees a butterfly

            a struggle of feeble wings

            energy in wind

            surges with rapid water

            beats against rock

            water quickening

            strong moving air

            the water

            divides at a fork leading

            elsewhere and here

            a farmer's ditch

            leads water to rice fields

            the stream drains

            distracted by a passage

            withdrawal

            never weakened

            with rising north winds

            empowering

            water's plummeting journey

            through destiny
