The stars of Bushnell's assured, ice-cold careerist fiction don't believe in bodice-rippers, although in their rare stolen moments of sex (usually illicit), they aren't above a little pantyhose-wrecking. Romance for them is something they do to keep in trim between deals … and work, not love, is what keeps them together.
