In a far land,
They lived at peace.
They lived under the sun.
They were people of the sun.
Then darkness came upon them.
Shipped to a land far from home,
They were chained and shackled.
Their life under the sun died away.
Life was left up to those with the whip and gun.
Their days were darkened with despair.
Hope is held deep within.
Fear replaces faith.
Songs of joy become sorrow songs.
Prayers are silent whispers in the wind.
Life in chains leaves one in darkness.
Life in chains eclipses the sun.
When you are chained and shackled,
Life seems lost and done.
Every breath is a struggle.
Every motion is painful.
O, let us pray to only see the Son.
