Escapes
You can say I will
But I won’t be
You say I do
But I don’t see
Your words try to latch on
But they loose grip
Trying to sway me
But I give you the slip
You’ve got me cornered,
No escape in sight
You think you’ve won
But I take flight
No emotional play
Or sizzling night
My heart is my own
Lust cools in the light
Time to move on now
You’ve figured me out
Birds in cages,
Just aren’t me
Gotta free spirit,
Let me be.
Don’t bake me in
Your apple pie
Dreams not big enough
Barely hold you
To cramped for me.
So I’m
On the run now
Don’t quite know where
I’ll run a mile
And then I will see.
Or maybe that’s you.
Can’t tell whose looking back
Could be the mirror calling me in
Could be a lover beckoning sin
Ill stand on the shore here
Avoid the sea.
Salt and the tide
Keep calling me
Get pulled down
Loose touch with the ground
Am I flying or about to drowned
