Chapter one
Cinder Boy
A sharp burst of wind down the chimney sent a blast of soot up into Robert's face, momentarily tearing the young man from his book’s world of swords, sorcery, dragons, and knights. His hands callused by thousands of paper cuts wipe the dark ash from his eyes leaving a finger...

Stars FallStars have fallen, so have I.Not like shooting, toward the earth.Emotions slipping, downward pulled.Catch my breath, keeping me up high.Never touch, the ground so inviting.Pull me in gravity’s embrace. But can leave. My own free will.Let me fall.Don’t try to catch.Falling stars.
