We came home from an overnight trip to some friends in Napa today to find on the order of fifty baby spiders living in and around the bay window over the sink in the kitchen.
Since we have Ant problems, some of them were quite plump and considerably larger than their siblings. Most, however, were about the size of a pin head.
Still, having that many little spiders is a bit unnerving.
It reminds me of an apartment where I stayed once. I woke up to go to work one morning and walked into the bathroom. I felt something across my face, turned on the lights and saw roughly eight bagillion baby spiders descending from the ceiling.
I almost wondered if I was actually awake. I was too busy freaking out and running out of the room to check though.
After I got the broom and scooped them all under a stream of hot water I realized how funny it was.
These two somewhat similar circumstances remind me how easy it is to react to life's situations. Years ago my first reaction was "OMG! I'm in a horror movie!" Then after the webs settled, so to speak, it was laughable and made a fun story to freak people out with.
Today's happening, well, that's just a story to introduce the other one.
I gotta do the last dish and see if there's any more little arachnids I need to ... um ... 'dispose of'.
Hope your week is going great!
