My fourth novel was just picked up by the same publisher of my third novel. I am very excited! But like everything else I do it seems like I'm always in a rush to get to the next step. Now that the novel is completed and it came back from the editor I'm chomping at the bit to have the layout done. But the problem I have is there are so many mistakes that came back from the editor - just can't find good help these days can you (?) That I have to go back over it myself to make sure the editing was done correctly. I certainly can't send it knowing there are mistakes!
This whole process makes me realize that even though we are in the 'worst economic situation since the Great Depression' and 'Consumer confidence is at an all time low' I still have the hurry up and wait mentality and seem to be three steps ahead of myself. It doesn't really matter, the next novel is already started and this one hasn't really seen the light of day yet. Am I alone in this dilemma or does anyone else out there feel that way?
Is that just part of some strange culture we live in, or is it just me? It's Sunday night and I already have the menu planned for the rest of the week. I know what has to be done on which day. I crave the day when I can wake up and have NOTHING to do! But you know what, then I'll wish I was super busy...Think we'll ever be satisfied?
