We are an author community so I would like to pose a question. Does it pay to format your book for the 'ebook' formats that are available?
First there was kindle and now there are so many others that it makes my head spin. Of course we can just make an 'ebook' but then we run the risk of having them copied and shared and plagiarized and pilfered and (any other verb I can come up with!) Do we run the risk of losing all respectability in the writing community as the words we so lovingly created become something else.
Personally, I love curling up with a good book and don't think it's the same thing, BUT I don't own a kindle, or a something else. My brother loves his and swears that he will never buy an actual book again.
Of course then there is the additional expense of having the manuscripts formatted differently.
I would really appreciate any comments.
