It's with great pleasure that I announce the winners of the
2011 Mona Schreiber Prize for Humorous Fiction and Nonfiction:

1st Place, “The Artist Formerly Known” © Christopher Hivner, Dallastown, PA

A small town newspaper story on a bizarre visual artist named Chablis who
turns local life upside down as he scouts locations for his canvas "Duck with a Watch."

2nd Place, “Mediocre Burger” © Scott Erickson, Portland, OR

An obsessive young man writes in gooey prose about how the former love of his life is
philosophically connected to the quality of the fast food they ate together.

3rd Place, “Missouri” © Robert Morgan Fisher, Woodland Hills, CA

A well-written and professionally constructed query letter for a book
with the unfortunate title, The Meth-Users Guide to Missouri.

You can read the complete essays online right now at
www.bradschreiber.com/mona.htm and many thanks to all who have
supported and entered the MSP.

And a quick, final announcement. I got back the rights to the first
book I ever published, Weird Wonders and Bizarre Blunders. It's a wild
world records book. I have added text and amazingly
freaky photos and put it up in the Kindle bookstore on Amazon
so take a look and let your friends know, if you would. It's here:

Happy New Year and again, I appreciate your generous
support of the MSP. As my father passed away just after Thanksgiving,
the Prize in my mind now commemorates both Mona and Andy.

Happy New Year

Hi Brad!

Seems like ages since you've popped up in Red Room.  I trust things are going famously in your universe.

Cheers!
