Gina Misiroglu of RedRoom.com has enabled me to post my second original essay about my book, co-authored with Steve Roby, Becoming Jimi Hendrix. This time, my AOL piece, rather than concentrating on Jimi's racial identity in the early 60s, explores his phenomenal scope of musical genres, which ran far beyond psychedelic rock, ranging from blues to R&B, surf, jazz and even classical music.
