Cut-off date for submitting poetry entries to the Limestone Dust Poetry Festival/Postmarked by the 15th is acceptable

Jul.12.2011

A regional southeastern poetry festival, but you may submit work if you live outside the Southeast. Winners have work included in the Limestone Dust Poetry Anthology and are invited to read their original work at the Festival, September 10, 2011 at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment Center, Huntsville, AL.

This festival is the 10th Anniversary Celebration. Our invited guest readers include: Kathleen Thompson, Road Poet, Birmingham, AL; James Robinson, teacher and well-established Huntsville poet; and J. Barrett Wolf, Road Poet, New York State. Some of our past readers have included Pulitzer nominees, Pushcart winners, a Yale Series of Younger Poets winner, National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship winners, National Endowment for the Humanities winners, etc. We like for special guest readers to have had at least one book of poetry published, but primarily to have a "body of work," and to be well-known in their own home state.
