Bonnie gives an overview of the book:

Only the Sea Keeps is a collection of poems about the tsunami in Indonesia.  Sankar Roy and Judith Robinson put this book together in order to honor the survivors of the tsunami and also to raise money to help the survivors rebuild their lives.  The sales of Only the Sea Keeps, as of several years ago, had raised $6,000.  I'm sure it's much more by now.

Author's Publishing Notes

Judith Robinson called on me to write a poem specifically for this anthology, even though she and I had never met. She had read the poems in Bonnie Roberts: Greatest Hits, by Pudding House at New York Poets' House. She said in her communication to me that I seemed like someone who would have the compassion to write such a poem. (Thank you, Judy!) I immediately called the publisher of Pudding House to tell her about this connection. She was very happy, and said she was going to tell all her staff right away so they could see how their hard work pays off in the Greatest Hit series, making possible such connections between poets and people.
