This is as fun a post as one would expect from THE REJECTIONIST.
It reminds me of writing classes in which (correctly) instructors urge writing students to eschew adjectives, adverbs, and to replace weak nouns and verbs with more resonant ones.
It also reminds me of the purple prose less gifted students turn out as they try to stretch their vocabulary in this way.
And, obviously, I'm not the only one who seems to want to "drop mordor on their party."
Animal collective nouns, courtesy of Wikipedia. Personal favorites: an unkindness of ravens, a party (hee) of lady dolphins, an ostentation of peafowl, an audience of squid, an intrusion of cockroaches, A MARMALADE OF PONIES. MARMALADE. OF. PONIES.*
