The Magical Pill
Blog Post by Bob Mustin - Dec.10.2012 - 8:02 am
There's something magical about the game of baseball. If you don't believe me - and if you're a baseball fan - sit down with nothing on your mind except writing a baseball story, and see what happens.
That's what I'm doing this week: I had in mind to write a baseball story, and I kind of wanted it to be odd. And now it's pouring out of me in a way I couldn't have anticipated. There's been writing about the field itself, about romance and baseball, about making the "show," and about the bat. What's left?
The ball: cork, rubber, yarn, horsehide, and stitches. And that's what's rolling through my mind and onto the computer screen. More on this later.
