When Beth Anderson was in the 7th grade, her mother framed an award she received for a writing project about Benjamin Franklin. Beth went on to receive numerous awards throughout her formative years while writing for the high school newspaper in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. It wasn’t until her freshman year at the University of Michigan when she truly received invaluable training in the art of word use. Beth’s English professor was blind. During frequent visits to her professor’s office, she watched as the instructor inserted a paper with print (typewritten at that time) into a machine and it translated the manuscript into Braille. It was then she learned each individual word had an impact in the translation of the work.

Beth went on to complete her degree in Early Childhood Education studying both at George Washington University and graduating from the University of Michigan. Her husband worked for President Ronald Reagan thus taking her to Washington DC where she began teaching at a private school in Georgetown. Beth became associated with many Senators, Congressmen and other public figures. After the President’s term concluded, Beth moved to Greenwich, Connecticut where she had her first child, Austin. It was during her six years commuting to and from New York City that she established her connections in the fashion industry. After the death of her husband, Beth relocated several times, living in Dallas, Salt Lake City and finally landing in Tulsa, Oklahoma to be near her family and raise her son. She later rekindled a relationship after attending her high school reunion, remarried and had her beautiful daughter, Clara.

Beth began dabbling with an internet business in spring 2007, opening the online boutique My Chic Things. She established a small blog to accompany her store website and realized her love for writing was coming back full force. After garnering the writings of several friends, she changed her blog’s title to Chic Things Galleria. Together, a small band of authors started contributing articles and combining their blogs into one website. In the fall of 2008, Beth, along with her son Austin, founded Chic Galleria Publications. They hired a talented web designer and launched Chic Galleria. Still a small band, Beth developed relationships and continued to seek talented writers who were established experts in their individual fields. Chic Galleria has now brought over 45 contributors to the staff and published over 1100 articles in the course of one year. Chic Galleria launched a striking new website design in October, 2009.

Beth’s articles have been published throughout the world wide web including publications such as The Chicago Sun-Times, Chefs.com and Livestrong.com established by the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Both Beth and the staff of Chic Galleria continue to travel and attend events such as BlogHer, GMHC’s Fashion Forward Fundraiser, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, the Toronto Independent Film Festival, Boston Fashion Week and the Foodbuzz Blogger Festival. Through Chic Galleria Publications, Beth supports the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation. Beth is a member of Delta Delta Delta woman’s fraternity, the Junior League and the University of Michigan Alumni Association.
