where the writers are
Our home.

I am not a writer nor do I ever think I can be compared to some who have written some unbelievable books who have changed our way of thinking and our lives but felt this is a important topic.

Lets see, I believe in earth based  religions and freedom for everyone who wants it. I believe in Fairies and magic yet am a student in everything that interest me. My Revolutions started very young. I was a teen joining forces to help those in Viet nam. I had gone to many gatherings and saw police in the New York area come with swat cars, remove their badges and take out clubs. They would begin swinging them at non=-violent demonstrators who only wanted to send a message to Washington DC to get our troops out and home for a war that really did nothing for the US. Many of these demonstrations where held in Central Park in the area where the Bathestia Fountain stands. I was young and was able to climb to her wings at many of these gathering to show our united beliefs.

Of Course many of these issues where never posted and the people of the city where unaware of the reasons so many had gathered. We where called unruly and many where beaten or arrested for crimes they did not do. I myself got arrested one time, but when brought to the station, gave all the wrong personal info but not my reasons for participating. I even gave the number of the detectors office there in the police dept. and even their address. This was not even noticed. They released me and simply said go and don't let me find you at any more demonstrations. Of Course I did go to many more for a change. One of my friends was beaten so badly they where not recognizable but this person-tore the badge of one officer and took it as a keep sack. One would not argue he deserved it.

My thought for social injustice changed at that time. To see so many who simply carried signs, quietly and laid down to traffic so the message would get out. But so many where already brainwashed  into the system.

These and many issues became clear as I grew up and tried to find ways  to help make a change for the better in our society.

Even today with the wealthiest still fighting to stay as controllers and keep what is left of the middle class from changing their  positions I feel the young should stand up and show what is best for the whole.

As a child I was one of the lucky ones who was exposed to beauty. Some of these things was the met, the Ballet, and the orchestra. I saw many rock bands in Sheep meadow before I even went to Wood stock. See if we could have gatherings as we did then, without the violence.

People are angry today, with just cause. They see the wealthiest Americans become the untouchables and their are more and more poor in our streets because of that fact.

Many of my jobs where in Human Services later in life. I felt if I could not change one area maybe I can help a fellow man.  I did this in many capacities for many years before I became ill myself. Fighting health care is another issue and feel everyone is entitled.

We are a country, strong and proud. Both my parents where immigrants who came here via Ellis island. They had to fight to stay. They loved this country and assimilated into it. They got jobs applied to be US citizens and learned the language. They kept many of their customs which I am grateful for but can not understand why so many now come here because of civil unrest in their countries and think they need to change what has worked for so many years.

Both my parents were so Happy when they became US citizens. They flew the Flag with Honor and would say how this country helped them not only with employment but in a promise. I have had Uncles, cousins and others join the service at a young age to help protect it. Not change it so that we mimic another country, but to be original and open.

It is so wonerful to see photos of a time passed presevered for all. The creative aspect of many writers to put down the correct works to get the messages out for what we fought for and to have that as our history.

Bravo to you all for sharing and keeping many of these events alive weather it be through Dance, Poems, wrtings, photogarphy o in a painting. I truely hope this continues and that maybe our society can be closer and more tolleren in every area. That no one straves on the street, that a mother feels so desparate as to give up their child and that we all learn that everyone and everything can teach us something new.
