Barbara Quick's first novel, NORTHERN EDGE, won the Discover Prize in 1990, came out in paperback in 1994, and was optioned for a film in 2008. VIVALDI'S VIRGINS, her second novel, was published by HarperCollins in cloth in 2007 and paperback in 2008, and has been translated into 14 languages. Her first YA novel, A GOLDEN WEB, will be published by HarperTeen on April 6, 2010. Barbara's essays and reviews have been published in the New York Times, Newsweek, Ms., the San Francisco Chronicle and the Los Angeles Times. A long-time resident of Berkeley, she has recently moved to Sonoma County.
