For several weeks Red Room has sent me e-mails asking me to blog. This week they said I could blog about my own book. Now that's the sort of enticement I like to hear.Turns out I wasn't even registered as an author with Red Room, so I had to go through the whole mishagash of registering instead of watching Survivor on TV. So I'll be quick about blogging..
My book is called Crafting the Travel Guidebook: How to write, publish & sell your travel book. Good reading. Unfortunately, everybody and their brother is writing about travel on the internet and guidebooks seem to be selling less than before. However, they still sell--and anyone who wants to do a local book still has a chance of getting a solid audience and a good return on their work.
In the meantime I have also been writing for some online "content aggregators" or whatever they are called. I am the New Jersey Day Trip Examiner for www.examiner.com, and have been writing for www.associatedcontent.com for about a year. Just started at Suite 101. They all pay chump change but some authors (and real estate brokers, life coaches and PR people) use them as a way of extending their audience or finding clients. Something like Authors Den or Red Room but with a lot more aggrevation and a tiny bit of moolah attached.

Welcome, Barbara!
Thanks for letting us know about Crafting the Travel Guidebook, Barbara, and about your other writing. Best of luck with your book!
