Flu...

Oh yeah.
I was determined to keep writing...at my desk...as usual....
Ha.
Turned on computer.
Opened current project. Ran spell-check. Saved file.
Coughed. Moaned.
Stared at screen.
Tried to find synonym for "Thing."
Watched words melt into each other.
Decided "Thing" should stay "thing."
Saved file.
Turned computer off.
Instant guilt pangs.
Took temperature. Less guilt. Still determined.
Grabbed laptop and went to bed.
Got comfy on pillows and under blankets. Turned on laptop.
Stared at screen.
Woke up in dark room with dead computer.

Man, I laughed ~
Hope you're feeling better but thank you. Certainly been in that place, determined to write but without the wherewithal within me to figure out what to say instead of thing.
Cheers
Thanks, Michael. I'm hanging
Thanks, Michael. I'm hanging in there, despite la grippe, and my limited vocabulary. I keep recalling a line from an Ogden Nash poem: "Do you my poppet feel infirm? You probably contain a germ." One too many for my taste. But it sure helps to know others have been there! All best.

HA! Sorry.
