It is time for us Africans and our leaders to stop blaming colonization for our problems. Our continent has many fold problems of which we are able to solve on our own, if we stop complaining about what happened in the past and make a choice to move forward. In my opinion, I don’t think Africa is making progress and I am not satisfied with the way things are going on the continent. Our problem is that we have made many excuses for many years, while Asia and Latin America are growing very fast.
We complain about corruption, poor governance and bad leadership. We even grumble about Western oppression, racism and the Arab-Ottoman Slave trade. All of those things that happened were wrong and they are still wrong, but it must not be an excuse for us to not do anything at all. It as if we have stopped somewhere in the middle, not thinking were to turn.
We talk a lot about Pan Africanism, African Nationalism, Black Nationalism etc, but in each of our nations there are tribal, racial, political and religious conflicts. We are not able to solve these problems, and the African Union has done a little to fight poverty, corruption, injustices etc. In North Africa, the world believes that there is an uprising for democracy, but the reality will be the judge. I personally don’t believe that they want democracy. If Northern African countries really want democracy, they would also fight for secularism and question the role of their religion play in each society. We’re talking about a religion, which also has a political movement that views democracy and human rights as abominations because they’re man made governments.
In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood is not interested in democracy, but a mission to subjugate its own citizens, and to conquer Western nations.
Liberals choose to ignore this reality because they are either asleep or defending the evil world. In Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa, the locals because of what their predecessors have done in the past are killing farmers. At the same time, the international community and the Liberal intelligentsia seems to be muted about it.The Muslim Brotherhood, the world's oldest and largest terrorist organization focuses on blaming Israel and the rest of the West of the problems in Egypt, while they don't do anything to provide positive solution for the development of the country. They waste their energy on making plans to establish an Islamic superstate on this planet, rather than improving the lives of their own people.
The Western world is not responsible for what happened to Zimbabwe’s economy over the last 15 to 20 years. It is Mugabe who is to blame for the fall of Zimbabwe. In the Republic of the Congo, the current president, Dennis Sassous Nuguesso is torturing politicians and diplomats who oppose his views. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, especially in the eastern part of the country, rebels from both the Congo and Rwanda rape women, and what annoys me about it is that they blame their idiocy on poverty. Unbelievable! I think it’s time that we stop putting our clothes backwards. We as Black folks and Africans have to rise to higher standards.
We need to do a better job by holding each other to high levels. We all have to struggle, if we want to reach that high mountain. We can be our own best friends, but we can also be our own worse enemies. Those who fought, bled and died for our rights to freedom, self-determination and independence did not die,so that we continue to waste our energy on blaming the White man for our problems. They died so that we could be free and responsible citizens who are willing to contribute to the well being of our nations, for better or worse. We owe it to them, and we owe it to our children and grand children.
We cannot carry on blaming White people for a long time. We can’t carry on blaming Jews for long. We also have to stop having some kind of inferiority complex towards the same people, we are keeping on blaming for a long time. The ANC needs to stop making excuses. The world does not owe South Africa anything because of Apartheid. It’s time for the ANC to make plans for the future of all South Africans, regardless of race, creed etc. Do what’s right, and stop being lazy. Work hard and be the best that you can be. I do not want a Pan African state, I am proud of the country that I have and I am going to do everything to focus on its interests. Each African has to learn to put the interests of his country above the continent of Africa. The responsibility for the current state affairs on the continent is in the hands of African leaders, who must assume their responsibilities to develop clear strategies for their respective countries. Ethiopia and Liberia have escaped colonialism, and they are still among the poorest countries in the world. Stop making excuses and wake up!
