Born and raised middle-class in Northern California, Avery discovered writing, martial arts, and the art of hellraising at a young age. The latter frequently brought him into conflict with his father and the world around him, and childhood was anything but easy.
Avery became a parent at age nineteen, although he would eventually separate from the mother of his children and enter a period of homelessness that would last eleven years, taking him through twenty-two states. Eventually, he settled in the Midwest area, where he unexpectedly rose to the top of the sales charts for Centurylink communications. As he grew older, he renewed his passion for writing and became a successful freelancer.
Now in his mid-thirties, Avery has returned to his native west coast. He has published one novelette under his own name and is currently penning an ongoing series in the same vein, as well as an untitled crime drama. He is newly married to the woman of his dreams and continues to rebuild his relationship with his children and family.
In his spare time (sparingly spare time) he cooks, studies martial arts, plays video games, reads books and watches movies. He's also a diehard fan of the Baltimore Ravens.
