So, the next two weeks have some excellent literary events here in Tennessee.
First, the Celebration of Southern Literature starts tomorrow. It features such amazing writers as Dorothy Allison (whose speeches are legend), Michael Knight, and Jamie Quatro (whose new book, I will discuss more in this post) as well as dozens more. You can read more about it here:http://southernlitalliance.org/happenings/programs/celebration-of-southern-literature/. Tickets are reasonably priced (around $100 depending on which sessions you attend), and the event starts tomorrow in Chattanooga, TN and lasts until Sunday.
Then Jamie Quatro is reading at Union Avenue books on April 27th here in Knoxville, TN. You can read more about it here:http://www.unionavebooks.com/event/jamie-quatro-author-i-want-show-you-more. I'll be at the reading; although I am blond now, you may always recognize me by my awkward enthusiasm for books. I'm excited to read and discuss I want to show you more here on the blog sometime around May. I encourage you to go to her reading, if not to see me, than to experience a real literary talent's first book.
Wishing you all the best,
