I've gone through all the necessary procrastinations today before beginning writing. My desk is clean, the cats are fed, my inbox is empty, and the laundry is done. I've researched workshops, contests, and upcoming submission deadlines. I've checked existing submissions. I've made a very responsible calendar with very responsible writing deadlines I will responsibly ignore. I'm going through older drafts.
It's been so long since I kept up with older workshop friends, instructors, editors, potential agents, and others. It's a pleasure to catch up with community members. It reminds me that as isolated as the work feels, it's not truly alone. It's a warm feeling.
