The sad truth is that although most of us are shaken by the near-daily stories of fraud, corruption, sexual perversion, brutality, cruelty, massacres, and the murder of the innocents on a global scale, we are not stirred to action. Are we overwhelmed, desensitized, and benumbed by the magnitude of these horrors? Most individuals feel helpless when it comes to stemming the flow of hatred and violence. But are we completely powerless to bring about a change for the common good of humanity? Perhaps not. Perhaps a simple act of kindness by one person multiplied by a 100,000, by a million, by a billion people will have a cumulative, counteractive, profound, and long-lasting effect. This is my hope for the holiday season.
