where the writers are
Dante for Dummies

I've been reading about Dan Brown's new novel based on Dante's Inferno, due out in May.
Advance comments/criticism are focused on the likelihood that the general reader will be
delighted while the scholarly communities will be sent into a paroxysm -- let's hope of laughter and not despair. Based on what I've read I'd say Brown's novel will be an oversimplification and a cheap exploitation of this great masterwork. So I'd like to go on the record and announce that Brown's book should be subtitled, "Dante for Dummies".
