Summary: Applying the 4 principles outlined in this article will help you to dismiss any excuses you have and achieve the dream L.I.F.E. that you have always wanted.
Do you remember as a child your parents trying to instill an image in your thoughts of what your life should be once you became an adult? Where you should live, whom you should marry, and/or they tried encouraging you to follow in their same career path. Maybe you remember taking a career assessment in high school or a guidance counselor suggested which job would suit you best. Or perhaps no one shared any ideas with you of the type of employment you should partake. Instead you envisioned your future life from images you saw on television, in magazines, or from watching other adults in your environment.
When reviewing your past or analyzing your current situation, are you living the life you once dreamt as a youth? Have you accomplished any of the career goals you once fantasized about? Is your profession one that you are proud of and would encourage your children to pursue? If not, fret not.
Instill this in your thought: nothing can be worst than to arrive at the point of death only to realize that you have never lived. Now is the time…you’re never too old to live the life that you have always wanted.
You may be thinking my life is too hectic. I have children in school, a household to keep up and support, I work 8-10 hours/day; there’s simply no time left to pursue some “wishful thinking”. If these are your thoughts that than you are absolutely correct.
You can only attract into your life whatever is in alignment with your dominant thoughts and emotions. If you think and feel that your life is doomed to the same mediocrity that it has always been then the only way to improve your life is by changing the way you think.
No matter how young your children are or how old you are, there are a few simple steps that you must take to live the life that you want to live, instead of a discontent life that you have to live.
1. Improve your thinking.
By focusing solely on that which you sincerely want you will attract all that you need to do, know, have, or say to attract your ideal desires. Negative and positive cannot occupy the same mindset; when one appears the other has to flee. When your dream has been fully defined all of creation will take the necessary steps to help you fulfill this goal.
2. Identify your WHYs.
Your whys are the imperative reasons behind the need to achieve your goal…they are your motivation. Without compelling reasons for accomplishing your goals than all you have is a wish list. Wishes don’t come true. A defined goal with a strategy backed by actions is what makes dreams come true!
3. Modify your intentions.
Your intentions will be your inspiration because they highlight the purpose behind your WHYs. Your WHYs are how the achievement of your dream benefits you, and your intentions are how the dream benefits others. As time progresses and the closer you get to manifesting your dreams your intentions may change. From time-to-time it’s important to review your intentions so that you keep up the emotional energy needed to keep pressing towards its accomplishment when times become difficult.
4. Time management.
Structuring your daily schedule is crucial. Fulfilling your dreams requires a significant amount of your attention, but so does your family. The best way to give both the attention that’s needed is to include your family in your efforts to achieve your goal. You will be surprised that people are willing to do more for others than they are for themselves. So including them on your journey is a great way to spend quantity and quality time together.
As children our parents usually inspire our dreams. As parents we tend to influence our children dreams. And now that you know that it is possible to achieve your dreams at any age, I pray that the child in you will be encouraged to pursue your dreams until the manifestation of your dreams excites the child within each of us to do the same.
