New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman wrote a beautiful article in Saturday’s newspaper that I think everyone should read. First, he takes on the common misconception that China will definitely become the world’s greatest superpower in the 21st century. Having lived in Beijing and spent a large portion of my academic and post-college years studying China, its culture, and economy, I have a difficult time expressing this to those in the States who have never traveled to China. Especially to those who have never traveled outside our country!
The most compelling part of the article comes next. After Mr. Friedman expounds on our country’s creative advantage, he offers a major area where we need to improve before we can truly live up to our full potential during this century.
Check it out. You won’t regret it!
