Spring in its Step

It's 80 degrees,
the sky is blue,
the breeze is warm,
and so am I.
Yellow pollen covers my car,
red bud trees are blooming in a riot of pink,
I've got itchy, watering eyes.
Spring has sprung,
though the calendar
still displays the first month of the year.
End times?
Global warming?
Only Mother Nature knows...

If this warm weather continues much longer spring will appear early here as well.
It's 14 degrees
Snow covers the ground and surrounding mountains.
Only the roads are clear.
Spring and warmth are distant dreams.
