Redemption
Blog Post by Annette Talbert - Feb.24.2012 - 8:00 pm
A gray, humid Friday.
Rushing from meeting to meeting.
Uptight people,
tears and anger.
Headaches and heartaches,
tired and stressed out.
Trudging through the parking lot
dragging 100 pounds of worry.
The sigh is building as the cell phone vibrates
in my pocket.
What now?
The voice is calm and friendly
and the message suddenly
lifts the weight from my shoulders.
I hang up and call a girl,
who hears me shout,
"you're in!"
Screams fill my ears
and the phone goes dead.
The weight is lifted,
my step is light.
This day has been redeemed.
