This week, I found myself struggling to stay true to myself. Circumstances at work made the week very stressful. There was uncertainty, divided loyalties, and warring factions.
Filled with turmoil, I awoke in the middle of the night, my heart and mind racing. So I began bestowing blessings. I've found this practice helps me let go of what I cannot control, while focusing on my reaction to all the negative energy.
Each time I thought of a person I whispered to myself, "blessings on you." If it did not feel sincere, I repeated my blessing until I could say it without gritting my teeth.
I blessed the people I loved. I blessed the people I dislike. I blessed the people behind the scenes that I did not know, and then I fell into a peaceful sleep.
The next day I regained my balance. I stayed focused on being myself; my genuine, reliable, trustworthy, authentic self.
