Abundance
Blog Post by Annette Talbert - Feb.18.2013 - 7:36 pm
Abundance is how I want to live from this point forward. Fill my life with the treasures~of loved ones, good food and drink, that I make with my own two hands, good books, good times that make memories, with nature and all of its gorgeous majesty. I want to~fill my belly with laughter,my eyes with beauty,my ears with music,my tongue with deliciousness, and my skin with the touch of loved ones.

I am reading this first thing
I am reading this first thing in the morning – and am inspired. As soon as I get my printer back, I would like to print this and put it on my wall. I hope that's OK.
Too many of such thoughts I read are sugary and sentimental. Your little text is light, rich and full of colour.
Thank you!
Katherine, Absolutely! And I
Katherine,
Absolutely! And I am flattered.
As I put some more pieces of the past to bed, I am reminded of what really matters. Kind of the biblical, "where your treasures lie, there is your heart."

Filled with the simple things that matter. Wonderful post, Annette.

May it be so.
Annette, I'm on board with
Annette,
I'm on board with you! Abundance is vastly preferable to scarcity, unless one finds meaning and fulfillment in the credo that "less is more." Thoreau and others do make credible arguments for that lifestyle as far material things go; whereas your post focuses on a broad range of life's simple pleasures.
Let's hope that like the poet's Miniver Cheevy who found the past more attractive, we weren't "born too late," because, as I recall, the Renaissance, rather than our modern age, is best known for its philosophical concept of adundance and fullness in all creation.

Brenden, I have had a small
Brenden,
I have had a small dream since my early adulthood to live in a smaller space filled with my "treasures:" good food, colorful mismatched pottery, a jar of smooth beach glass, a mantel crammed with family photos, a family sitting around a scrubbed wood table laughing, eating and drinking.
I wandered somewhat far from that path, but have been given the opportunity to begin again. This time I hope I get it right :)
Thanks for stopping by,

Annette ~
I thought about this for hours, savoring the simplicity and directness. It's like a prayer for the ages.
Cheers, M
Thanks Michael, I printed it
