Annette Talbert's Biography
Member Info
I grew up with five siblings in a working class neighborhood outside Washington, D.C. I have been writing or telling stories in some form or another for many years. As my old life was dismantled, I found journal writing and later blogging to be the release I needed. I have continued to write because I can't seem to stop! I love to read fiction, non-fiction (particularly history and biographies) and I enjoy discovering new writers.
Influences
I'm influenced by those who kept journals and diaries. I love to read the story of someone's life or to read one's musings on life as they sit and reflect on their day or a situation.
I also love history and I am often reflecting on how world events or the "times" were affecting the "regular joe."
I am particularly drawn to strong female characters and writers. From childhood, my favorite authors and stories were of those "spunky gals:"
Dolley Madison, Pocohontas, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Betsy Ray, Francie Nolan. Those young women were my greatest influences in writing and in life.
