The Parent More and more they sound like their parents,
They were never bold like me or broke the commandments,
Go out and get some fresh air stop watching TV they moan,
Or tidy your room it looks like it has been hit by a cyclone,
Stay out of trouble or atone.
Eat properly and all your meat and vegetables they order,
Or you’ll get sick or an eating disorder,
Do all your homework and go to bed early,
Pocket money is given only when I behave so irregularly,
Bedrooms are entered and cleaned without our permission,
They listen to our telephone conversations and read our emails a horrible violation,
We need to protect you from perverts they say,
Right as we are bold children making them old and grey before their day.
