where the writers are

Influences

I was a better writer before college, I think.

My high school Advanced Comp teacher, Ms. Bailess whipped my writing into shape like a tiny boot camp instructor, while Mr. Chris opened my imagination with great fiction.

Post college, I managed to recover some creativity and style. I took a correspondence writing course, did well, and it bolstered my confidence. I took more classes, and started completing writing assignments for my employer: press releases, newsletters, and the more "creative" customer correspondences. My boss, Carol Sanders, gave me many writing opportunities, helped me to "hone a  tone" and, I swear, did more to make a writer out of me than anyone or anything else.
