If you're the mother of a daughter anywhere from age 7 to 15, chances are you've heard of Justin Bieber. The sweet-faced popstar graces everything from radio stations to teen mags to Twitter, and I heard he guest starred on CSI. Don't tell my daughter.
So just another pop star, I thought, remembering my own mad crush over Donny Osmond when I was nine years old. Ironically, my daughter is now nine. And even more ironic, Justin looks a lot like Donny. Is it something in the genes? Not the fact that Jusin and Donny look a lot alike, but that my daughter and I would have the same taste. She had her walls plastered with Justin, I had mine plastered with Donny. I even accepted Marie just so I could have Donny. I'm ashamed to say how long the crush lasted.
Although I don't love Justin Bieber's music, I have to admit the kid is incredibly talented. He has an amazing voice and it doesn't hurt that he looks a lot like my son. Of course, my son is much more handsome. Here's hoping my daughter's crush burns out faster than mine did.
