The human mind is such a beautiful thing. It’s very complex and sophisticated but very powerful when you begin to understand its functions and capabilities, mechanics so-to-speak. And when you do, OMG, it's like having a hi-revving machine. In fact, pick any, for instance lets take the most expensive or sophisticated vehicle (aeronautical, marine, space, or terrestrial) on the planet, and, yes the mind (to include the body) is worth more, even net, than any of these machines, because its the human mind that engineered, manufactured, and, created them in the first place. Wow, think about that for a moment. Seriously, soak that in. You and I, all of us, posses that power with in our cranium – that's some powerful $#@! [stuff], if you really think about it!
You see, I believe most of us, including myself, are so distracted with all the things we deal with day-in and day-out that life throws at us that we don't take the time to really take care of our minds, let alone our bodies. I believe mental health is just as important as physical health but is largely neglected because of prevailing stigmas or desensitized perceptions that cloud society. Fortunately, by now all of us have heard of the balanced self - the proverbial mind, body, and soul pinnacle. It really is something worth investigating or striving for because they (all the parts) are connected and every so often when you are in sync you know it - we've all experienced it. It's like an organic euphoric sensation that feels absolutely fantastic that requires no booze or drugs.
I know this is going to sound hokie, but the mind is very powerful and emanates magnetic properties when the chemicals in the brain are activated. Or in layman's terms, when the mind is focused and you are connected, watch out or be careful what you ask for because your mind has now zeroed in on the target like a laser-beam or torpedo and it will reach it's destination or achieve its objective. This, I speak mainly from personal experience and not solely from mere textbooks or holistic fad influences. All of this, of course, is easier said than done because being present and keeping the mind focused requires discipline and intense mental effort. An activity that for some might seem routine or effortless but while for others its more of a begrudging task, which I admit I probably lean more towards this side of the scale more so than not. I've heard or seen it written before that anything worth attaining in life requires, downright, a great amount of effort. Well, my entire life I've found this to be true in every instance for me.
I've discovered that the mind like the body is nourished daily, but unlike the human body it requires just a tad more than nutritional food. The fuel source that powers up the mind are your very own thoughts. Think of them as the “Wheaties” for your brain & it is these very thoughts that affect your behavior or feelings and overall well-being. So, if you want to be strong and healthy, not just physically but mentally, it's simple, seriously. You must feed yourself well and actively generate or visualize strong healthy images in your mind, because the mind, like a computer processor, doesn't discriminate when it comes to images, good or bad, positive or negative, it will process them all alike.
Thank you for taking time to read about my journey - ramblings about life, observations and experiences, however, there's much more to come... I've been writing for quite sometime but haven't ever really published or publicly shared any of the thoughts that float around in my mind's eye until now I guess, and so, this morning was very special to me for some peculiar reason as it hit like a ton of bricks, as if I had a revelation or awakening. As I awoke I deeply felt the need to finally share my thoughts on this particular subject matter. And so, I decided to take the next step. But how or where? I thought about posting on Facebook, but realized most people would simply roll-over it because it be too long or they'd be "too busy"... And so, nevertheless, I figured I'd give my first "official" BLOG a shot. I hope you like it but please bare in mind this only a modicum and barely the beginning!
BTW, if you like what you read please feel free to hit me up, comment, share, re-post, or whatever. I'm a firm believer in spreading & sharing the wealth!
