Greeting-card cozy is the tone of this counting rhyme that celebrates a child's new baby sister, with equally inviting art showing the newborn in Daddy's arms as the family meets baby-animal friends on the farm. From "Mama doe and her 1 little fawn / [that] dance through the gate and wait on the lawn" through "10 new puppies with sleepy eyes," every brightly colored double-page spread depicts a loving welcome to a smiling world, with hopeful wishes that baby sister's days will be playful and fun. Preschoolers will enjoy the animal counting as well as the sweet celebration and the loving embrace of the whole family. Hazel Rochman. Copyright © American Library Association. All rights reserved
