My latest producing project – Istanbul’s 1st Global Nomad Salon, held at Four Seasons Sultanahmet, June 26. Along with the founder of this Salon series, New York-based Dutch-Curacaoan banker Janera Soerel, I am organizing an entertaining evening for a diverse crowd of 20 to 30 international thinkers, movers, and shakers to discuss global culture. The Economist magazine calls the scene at this worldwide series of intellectual dinner parties “jetsetters with a conscience.”

TOPIC AND EXPERTS: Experts will sit among the dinner guests guiding the conversation and contributing their opinions on the evening’s topic: "Turkey's East/West Identity". The conversation might also touch on specific Global Nomad issues of self-knowledge, national identity, the influence of one’s neighborhood. Experts: Ersin Akarlilar (CEO Mavi Jeans); Serif Kaynar (managing director Korn/Ferry); Nese Gundogan (secretary general National Turkish Olympic Committee), Ferhan Alesi (global intercultural trainer), and the American Tara Hopkins (Open Society/Soros Foundation grantee who created the civic involvement program at Sabanci University).

DINNER GUESTS: Among the Turkish and international diners – social scientists, businesspeople, foreign correspondents, cultural thought leaders -- will be the head of Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and the creative director of New York’s Sperone Westwater gallery (which represents top American artists like Julian Schnabel). Also in town at that time and among guests to be invited is a Nobel Laureate in Economics, and South America’s premier female novelist, and the president of her social and economic justice foundation.
