Istanbul fans: a 2010 blog carnival for you

I'm hosting a year-long blog carnival to celebrate Istanbul European Capital of Culture 2010....

For a worldwide audience (11 million foreign visitors are expected to descend on Istanbul next year), I'll be curating a feature at expat+HAREM, the global niche to highlight the best personal perspectives on Istanbul from around the web and around the world.

I'm looking for provocative posts and webpages that fit the expat+HAREM world view, touching on the crossroads and dichotomies of this hybrid metropolis… modern existences in historic places; deep-rooted traditions translated in mobile times; limiting stereotypes revisited for wider meaning.

Please share with any Istanbul-lovers you know -- and consider submitting a link of your own, fresh or classic! Details here: http://tr.im/Hv15

Jan-Feb issue: city+CONNECTIONS

First (double issue), a combination of different kinds of weblinks to photography, video, walking tours, art exhibitions, and more is now live! Guest curated by Gokhan Karakus and Rose Deniz, city+CONNECTIONS asks if Istanbul has been a 'hinge city' for 4,000 years, what does it connect? Would love to have some RedRoom writer submissions — fresh or classic — for the next installment. It’ll go live in March. Want to try curating cuisine, dance, music, theatre, film, language, literature or other aspects of Istanbul culture?
