Wowie ka-zawie....that's techie writer-speak for amazed, delighted, and (hunting in thesaurus) grateful to Huntington Sharp and Gina Misiroglu for featuring my work as BOOK OF THE DAY on the RedRoom.com site. They've become supportive friends and colleagues, helping me set up my RedRoom author site and even sending the Paw Nation folks my way.
You can probably tell by the book title--PET CARE IN THE NEW CENTURY--that the original pub date was some time ago. In fact, the book first appeared two months after the 9-11 tragedy, after which our nation was understandably focussed away from pet cloning, kitty kidney transplants, open heart valve replacement and gene therapies for pets. So I was delighted to bring the book back with the amazing updates that have happened since then--nutrigenomics that "reprograms" gene expression, for instance, turning your "fat storing" dog into a "fat burning" lean, mean sniffing machine!
The book wouldn't have found new 'print' life without my partners-in-pub'ing crime over at Who Dares Wins Publishing (they've returned a number of my backlist books to print life). If anything, the New Age of kindle-ization and POD puts authors back into the driver's seat, and my success is testimony to that sea change.
Authors, don't hesitate to reinvent yourselves if/when the need arises. As the cancer specialists i interviewed for Cutting Edge say, "Treatment isn't like jumping off a cliff. It's a process."
May we all "take the plunge" and emerge from the healing waters renewed!
woofs & purrs,
