Reflections of a dying snowman

Mortality

I'm working at
feeling how it is
with a snowman
being thawed to death.
I'm thinking I would
like the pace,
the orderliness of it all.
I would have felt
the joy at being rolled
into being by the children.
I also enjoyed
being a statue
looked upon with delight
by my creators
and walkers-by
in the neighborhood.
I, like everyone,
enjoy Christmas and
was lucky to be around
for it. In the dark
of night Santa waved
at me from the chimney
and wished me Godspeed.
Overall, life's been good.
I took my turn.
