About Me

  •      Growing up in Orwell, Vermont, I developed a love for writing in the 3rd grade when I won my first writing contest. I'm now 46 and living in Denver, Colorado. I have written a novel called Troubled Memories and though it hasn't been accepted yet, I am half way into what will be book number two in a series. Having now completed a degree in business, I'm continuing on in my education with my current focus on criminal justice. My next step will be to get my masters in either Forensic or Abnormal Psychology.

  • A NaNo WriMo Winner! Novel Completed in 24 Days!

    November 25, 2009

    •      This is a feeling that I really didn't expect. To have accomplished this 50,138 word novel in 24 days only makes me wonder why it takes my so long to write at other times.  But finishing it isn't what is so amazing to me. I sat this morning before heading to work and read the first few chapters. No spelling errors. No grammar errors. The story is reading like there is no possible way it ...
  • Nearing the 50,000 word mark.

    November 22, 2009

    •      In my Nano Wrimo, "Paradox of Justice" Novel, I am finding myself elated that the end of the story is near. Not so much that the story is over, but because Josephine, who was framed for the murder of her husband, will have brought those responsible to justice. Portions of the story were dramatic, others were full of action. Soldiers and police were brought in as well as some ...
  • NaNo WriMo Words accumulating fast!

    November 15, 2009

    •      I Can't believe I wasn't going to even participate. I just reached 37,065 words today putting me over 12,000 words ahead of the game. The story though, is blowing my mind. It has fallen together like a two piece jigsaw puzzle. This is the most complex thing I have ever written, with such twists and turns and contains some of the most twisted characters to include a detective that's ...
  • NaNo WriMo: A Chunk of Chapter 19.

    November 15, 2009

    •      The scenery was right out of a documentary. Occasionally she’d glimpse a big horned sheep or an elk. Several times deer would snort and blow if she got close to where they were hiding out from mountain lions or coyotes. She felt as if she was passing through a time doorway into the past. No houses in sight and no signs of civilization. However, by the day’s end she could hear the ...
  • NaNo WriMo Dedication to All Veterans---see last blog!

    November 11, 2009

    •     As a Veteran of U.S. Army Intelligence, I feel compelled to dedicate  my last post (the end of chapter 16 in the NaNo Wrimo) to all veterans wherever they may be. Please keep in mind also, that should this book be published, the entire story is dedicated to our Current Active Military where ever they may be stationed. I thank you, and I salute you! Drive on, and keep your powder dry!

  • My dearest sister

Renee, As always, a well written post. I can not get out of my mind what you must be going through.
  • Congrats Kim

I can relate well to the things you shared in your quest to reach that 50,000 word mark. We both finished on the same day. Nice job and you are right. You can do anything you set your mind to.
  • Thank you Ryoma

Although the words came easily and the characters in the story went through their ups and downs, the most difficult thing for me was time management.
  • I laughed

Ryoma, I laughed hysterically at your scenario with the security officers. I even read your blog to a friend of mine and he joined me in the laughter. Absolutely hilarious picture you painted.
  • My dear sister

As I read the words of you wrote in this blog, I see your feelings. I always see them.
